Extend HealthCo provide optimum treatment in a caring environment

Extend HealthCo was founded in Wagga Wagga in 2015 on the premise that physiotherapy can make a difference to people’s quality of life. In 2022, we expanded our vision, our location and our team to provide holistic healthcare for more of our community. We now have therapists who are trained in physiotherapy, exercise physiology, occupational therapy and dietetics. Our therapists are practitioners who are passionate about helping people optimise function regardless of age, disability, illness or injury.

Today marks World Cancer Day. According to the Cancer Council (2023), 1 in 2 Australians will receive a cancer diagnosis by the age of 85.

Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in cancer care, encompassing prevention, screening, pre-surgery preparation, post-treatment complication reduction, exercise prescription, pain management, pelvic floor issue treatment, and lymphoedema management.

At Extend HealthCo, we have a special focus on cancer care, offering two dedicated exercise classes - our breast cancer exercise class every Monday evening and our general cancer exercise class every Wednesday. These sessions provide a delightful blend of enjoyment, physical activity, and social interaction.

Our dietitian Tracy is here to help with this quick and easy healthy platter guide that is sure to please everyone!

The festive season is upon us which often means celebrations and social gatherings with friends and family. While there is nothing nicer than sharing a beautiful platter or grazing board with your loved ones, they can quickly and easily add extra calories to your intake, leading to weight loss plateaus or even weight gain. They can also impact your management of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol, especially if they include lots of chips, chocolates, lollies, processed meats and high fat crackers, such as Jatz, Ritz and Shapes.

The secret to building an impressive, nutritious and delicious platter is to load it up with a colourful rainbow of nutrient-rich fruits and veggies. Add some lighter, yet filling protein foods, fibre-rich grainy or seeded crackers and healthy fats (like those in nuts, olives and avocado).
