Approximately 40-60% of Australian women don’t understand the symptoms of menopause or have awareness about the menopause transition.

We know than women can experience a range of physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms during this time. Exercise is extremely important to improve quality of life and address some of these changes, such as the management of bone health, cardiovascular and metabolic health, body composition and muscle mass, strength, and overall physical function.

We have introduced a new class called Female Fitness. It is class specially designed to support women in their 40s to 60s who are navigating the physical changes of menopause and seeking to improve their overall well-being. This class provides a supportive environment for women to build lasting strength, improve bone health and nurture their bodies during this important time. If you are not sure whether this class would be suitable for you, give us a call and we can provide you with some more information.

Meet Sophie!

Sophie is our Accredited Exercise Physiologists here at Extend and joined the team in February 2024. She studied a Bachelor of Health Science, majoring in movement science at the University of Sydney. Sophie then completed a Masters of Exercise Physiology at the University of Sydney.

Sophie says the best thing about working at Extend is getting to work with other clinicians from different health backgrounds, allowing her to grow professionally and learn from others while ensuring that our clients get the best health care from a team of people who work together under the same roof.

When Sophie isn't at work, you'll find her sharing her love for food and cooking with other people!

We love having Sophie as a part of our team!!
